Greenland National Museum
Greenland’s Premier Cultural Museum
The Greenland National Museum is the most significant cultural institution in Nuuk and among the most comprehensive in the Arctic region. It houses an extensive collection of artifacts from Greenland’s Inuit culture, Norse history, and colonial past. The museum’s highlight is the display of the Qilakitsoq mummies, naturally preserved remains dating back to 1475. In addition to historical relics, the museum also showcases traditional clothing, tools, and kayaks, offering a deep dive into the survival and evolution of life in one of the world’s harshest climates. It’s a must-visit for understanding Greenland’s unique cultural identity.
