Rakiura National Park
Stewart Island Wilderness
Located on Stewart Island, Rakiura National Park is New Zealand’s southernmost national park, offering a remote and tranquil wilderness experience. Over 85% of Stewart Island is part of the park, which features dense rainforests, rugged coastlines, and sandy beaches. The park is also one of the best places in the world to see kiwi birds in the wild and to experience the Southern Lights (Aurora Australis). The Rakiura Track, a Great Walk, is a highlight for visitors seeking adventure and solitude.
