Rotorua Museum (Te Whare Taonga o Te Arawa)
Geothermal and Culture
Housed in the historic Bath House building, the Rotorua Museum is dedicated to the region’s rich cultural and geothermal history. It showcases the stories of the Te Arawa iwi, the history of the Rotorua area, and its unique volcanic activity. While currently closed for earthquake strengthening, it remains a symbol of Rotorua’s heritage, with plans to reopen as a revitalized cultural landmark.
