Puglia
Italy’s Heel of the Boot
Puglia, located in the southernmost part of Italy, is known for its beautiful coastlines along the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, as well as its distinctive whitewashed hill towns and olive groves. The region’s unique trulli houses, especially in Alberobello, are a UNESCO World Heritage site. Puglia is also famous for its Baroque architecture, particularly in Lecce, often called the 'Florence of the South.' The region’s cuisine is characterized by simple, fresh ingredients, with specialties like orecchiette pasta, burrata cheese, and seafood dishes.
