The Black Diamond
Modern extension of the Royal Danish Library
Known as the Black Diamond, this sleek waterfront extension of the Royal Danish Library in Copenhagen is a marvel of modern architecture. The building’s black granite façade reflects the sea, while its light-filled atrium creates a stunning contrast with its dark exterior. Completed in 1999, the Black Diamond houses not only the library’s vast collection but also a concert hall, a café, and exhibition spaces, making it a cultural hub in the city.
