Driving Denmark
Driving in Denmark offers a smooth and scenic experience, with well-maintained roads and clear signage throughout the country.
Denmark has an extensive network of highways and rural roads that connect its cities, towns, and beautiful countryside. Traffic rules are strictly enforced, and speed limits vary depending on the type of road—typically 50 km/h in urban areas, 80 km/h on rural roads, and 130 km/h on highways.
Most cars in Denmark are equipped with automatic toll payment devices for bridges like the Great Belt and Øresund. Driving is on the right side of the road, and seatbelts are mandatory for all passengers.
Denmark’s drivers are courteous, and cyclists are common, especially in cities, so extra care should be taken when sharing the road.
